De patru ani, China construiește o „baterie gigantică” în deșert: Cum arată acum centrala hidroelectrică cu acumulare prin pompaj
The Zhangye pumped storage hydroelectric plant in Gansu, China, is under construction, designed to store and supply energy as needed. With a capacity of 1,400 MW, it represents a significant investment of approximately 1.3 billion dollars. The facility will utilize two reservoirs at different altitudes to manage energy supply and demand effectively. This project aims to enhance renewable energy integration in the region, addressing the variability of solar and wind energy. Once completed, it is expected to generate around 1.637 billion kWh annually, significantly reducing coal consumption and carbon emissions.
