De la pește la culturi agricole și subvenții APIA / Cum au devenit 179 de hectare din Delta Dunării teren arabil cu acte în regulă
The administration of the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve has approved the conversion of nearly 179 hectares of fish farming land into agricultural use. This decision follows a request from Pedromar Trust SRL and has received necessary approvals from local authorities. Governor Florin Stăneață highlighted that many fish farming operations have become unprofitable, leading to a shift towards agriculture. The legal framework for such conversions was established in 2015, allowing for a more practical use of the land. Additionally, disputes over subsidies for agricultural activities on these lands have been addressed by the European Court of Justice, which ruled in favor of subsidy eligibility for agricultural use. Stăneață advocates for ecological restoration of the Delta, emphasizing the importance of landowner consent for such projects.
