De ce nu ne putem opri din a ne compara cu alții pe rețelele sociale. Creierul ignoră ceea ce știm deja

Social media often leads to upward social comparisons, where individuals compare themselves to others perceived as better off, impacting self-esteem and mental health. A meta-analysis revealed that such comparisons correlate with lower well-being and higher anxiety and depression levels. Despite knowing that social media presents a curated reality, users still feel inadequate when viewing others' highlights. To mitigate negative feelings, individuals can reduce exposure to triggering content and remember that they are comparing their full lives to selective snapshots of others' experiences.
