A new study reveals that interactions between primates and other species are more common than previously thought, highlighting social behaviors like play and caregiving. The research analyzed 427 documented cases involving 88 primate species and 127 other animal species, showing diverse interactions, including mutual grooming and sharing food. These behaviors may enhance social bonds and provide benefits similar to those within the same species. The findings suggest primates possess greater social flexibility and curiosity towards other species than previously recognized.
