In Galați, over 100,000 residents experienced a 24-hour water outage due to essential pipeline works aimed at ensuring future water supply during droughts. The mayor emphasized that these long-planned works are necessary to prevent future shortages, especially as the Danube's water level drops. While the temporary disruption affected seven neighborhoods, residents were able to access water from a city tanker. The mayor reassured that such maintenance is common in large cities and is required for proper infrastructure management.
