Ddeficitul bugetar a scăzut cu 37% în primele șapte luni. PNL: „Direcția este corectă”

Romania's budget deficit decreased by 37% in the first seven months of 2026 compared to the previous year, according to official data. The PNL party claims this reflects a positive shift in public finances under the Bolojan government. The deficit reached 48.08 billion lei, down from 76.44 billion lei in 2025, with a GDP percentage reduction from 3.99% to 2.34%. Budget revenues increased by 11.2%, while expenditures rose by 2.9%. Personnel costs fell by over 4 billion lei, and investments grew by nearly 15 billion lei. The PNL emphasizes a transition from a consumption-based economy to one focused on investments and infrastructure. The interim Finance Minister stated that the deficit reduction must persist, highlighting Romania's ambitious fiscal correction efforts.
