Datoria publică a României a trecut pragul de 60,1% din PIB în primul trimestru din 2026

Romania's public debt reached 60.1% of GDP in Q1 2026, increasing from 59.3% at the end of 2025 and 55.8% a year earlier. This marks a 4.3 percentage point rise compared to the previous year, ranking Romania fourth in the EU for debt increases. The nominal public debt is now 1,169.9 billion lei, up from 1,137.3 billion lei in Q4 2025. While Romania's debt level is below the EU average, it has surpassed the Maastricht threshold of 60%. In the EU, public debt to GDP ratio rose to 82.9%.
