Datoria publică a României a depășit 60% din PIB. Consiliul Fiscal avertizează că măsurile luate de Bolojan nu sunt suficiente
Romania's public debt has surpassed 60% of GDP, reaching 60.2% in April 2026, exceeding the EU's reference threshold. The Fiscal Council warns that measures taken by the Bolojan government are insufficient for stabilizing the debt. The ongoing budget deficit, which was 9.3% of GDP in 2024, continues to drive debt growth. Although interest costs have risen significantly, there are signs of a decrease in borrowing costs in 2026. The Fiscal Council presents two scenarios for future debt evolution, emphasizing the need for continued fiscal consolidation to avoid unsustainable debt levels. Romania must gradually reduce its deficit while ensuring investment and economic growth.
