In September, Romania's foreign exchange reserves decreased by 4.805 billion euros, primarily due to public debt payments. The reserves fell from 64.865 billion euros in August to 60.060 billion euros. The decline was influenced by payments to the European Commission and potential currency sales to support the leu. During the month, there were inflows of 3.302 billion euros and outflows of 8.107 billion euros. The gold reserves remained stable at 103.6 tons, valued at 12.280 billion euros. As of September 30, total international reserves were 72.340 billion euros, down from 77.627 billion euros in August. Upcoming public debt payments in October are estimated at around 350 million euros.
