Datoria externă a administraţiei publice a urcat în luna mai la 30,8% din PIB

In May 2026, Romania's public external debt reached 599.946 billion lei, marking an increase from the previous month and accounting for 30.8% of GDP. The internal public debt also rose to 594.1 billion lei, representing 30.5% of GDP. The total public debt amounted to 1.194 trillion lei, up from 1.171 trillion lei, with a GDP ratio of 61.4%. Most of the debt is in government bonds, with significant portions in national currency and euros.
