In 2025, the EU recorded 1.20 billion trips, a 1.4% increase from 2024, with 70% being domestic. Romania had the highest percentage of domestic trips at 89%. Total spending on domestic trips was €266.2 billion, while foreign trips accounted for €379.4 billion. Accommodation and transport were the largest expenses for both types of travel.
