Daniel Zamfir, după promulgarea legii care poate debloca hidrocentrale vechi: „O mare victorie în lupta cu sabotorii României”

Senator Daniel Zamfir from PSD welcomes the promulgation of a law allowing modifications to protected natural areas for hydroenergy projects initiated before June 29, 2007. The law, which faced political disputes and constitutional challenges, enables the Ministry of Environment to adjust protected area boundaries if hydroenergy investments were approved before the specified date. Zamfir claims this will facilitate the continuation of hydroelectric constructions hindered by environmental regulations. The law also includes provisions for environmental impact assessments and exceptions for national security projects. Despite criticism from President Nicușor Dan regarding environmental guarantees, the law was upheld by Parliament after reexamination requests.
