Daniel David, fostul ministru al Educației, despre examenul de admitere la liceu: „Ca mecanism facultativ, eu l-aș păstra”
Daniel David, rector of Babeș-Bolyai University, argues that the current admission system to high school based solely on the National Assessment is inadequate. He suggests that a separate admission exam should be an optional alternative, not mandatory for all students. The Parliament postponed the decision regarding this separate exam, which is intended for students entering the eighth grade in the 2026-2027 school year. David emphasizes that the National Assessment evaluates only two competencies, leading some students to neglect other subjects. He recalls proposing alternatives during his tenure as Minister of Education, including the educational portfolio and the separate exam as an additional opportunity. David believes that while he may be against the majority opinion, the optional exam should be preserved without rushing its methodology.
