Danemarca va despăgubi mii de femei din Groenlanda cărora li s-au montat fără consimţământ dispozitive contraceptive
The Danish Parliament has approved compensation for Greenlandic women who were implanted with IUDs without consent from 1960 to 1991. Each eligible woman will receive 300,000 Danish kroner, approximately 40,000 euros. This law acknowledges the trauma experienced by generations of Greenlandic women. An estimated 4,500 women are eligible for compensation, as Danish doctors implanted these devices in an effort to control population growth. Last year, the Danish Prime Minister issued an official apology for this dark chapter in history, with reports on the scandal set to be published soon.
