Denmark has initiated an expanded mandatory military service program with 1,600 recruits starting an 11-month training period. This includes sending troops to Greenland for the first time. The country is enhancing its defense capabilities amid security pressures in the Arctic and the Ukraine war. The military service will now also include women, with an increase in annual recruits planned. Princess Isabella of Denmark has also enlisted, becoming one of the first women to participate in this extended program.
