Denmark has initiated an extensive recruitment program for young people lasting 11 months, responding to actions by the US and Russia. The first recruits will be deployed to Greenland, with 1,600 individuals enlisted, including women. This new program replaces the previous four-month service model and aims to increase annual recruits significantly by 2033. The military is also introducing new mandatory recruitment areas, including a drone platoon. The recruitment system is based on a lottery for eligible young individuals, and the army plans to mobilize up to 180,000 troops in case of a major conflict.
