Denmark will guarantee a loan of 750 million crowns to the Danish subsidiary of Ukrainian drone and missile manufacturer Fire Point, enabling production of the Flamingo cruise missile. The loan is necessary due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, which hampers normal borrowing conditions for the company. The funding will be channeled through the Danish Export and Investment Fund. The Flamingo missile, weighing 6,000 kg, can carry a 1,000 kg explosive payload over 3,000 kilometers and is guided by satellite. The production facility in Denmark is expected to be operational by the end of 2027, with Fire Point collaborating with European defense companies on missile defense systems.
