Denmark has officially launched its new mandatory military service lasting 11 months, responding to evolving security threats. Approximately 1,600 volunteers have been assigned to various military centers. The reform aims to enhance operational capabilities and increase the annual recruit number. Recruits will undergo basic training before serving operational roles, including potential deployments in Greenland and NATO missions. The government plans to extend service to women by 2027, reflecting changing security dynamics due to the Ukraine conflict.
