Dacia și Ford își opresc producția până pe 19 august. Bolojan: economia ajunge la 200 MW în plină criză energetică

Interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced that Dacia and Ford have halted production until August 19 to reduce energy consumption by about 200 megawatts. Other companies are expected to follow suit amid the energy crisis. Bolojan held a meeting with major energy consumers to discuss measures to mitigate the situation, which has arisen due to the shutdown of a reactor at the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant and decreased hydropower production. The government aims to lower consumption during peak hours to maintain system stability. Bolojan noted that some companies are willing to voluntarily reduce their energy use, and initial results show a decrease in consumption. He emphasized the challenges during evening hours and mentioned that some companies are entering maintenance periods.
