„Dacă nu ne trezim, persoanele slabe vor deveni o raritate!” România are cea mai mare rată de preobezitate din UE
Recent Eurostat data reveals that over half of European adults are overweight or obese, with Romania showing a concerning trend in pre-obesity. While only 12.9% of Romanian adults are classified as obese, 48.5% fall into the pre-obesity category, indicating that more than 60% of adults have an above-normal BMI. Dr. Oana Pop warns that without lifestyle changes, the prevalence of obesity will continue to rise, particularly among younger generations. The financial burden of obesity extends beyond healthcare, impacting societal costs. Treatments like injections and bariatric surgery can aid weight loss but require ongoing lifestyle management for lasting results. Hormonal differences also affect weight loss between genders, complicating the obesity issue further.
