A 4.5 magnitude earthquake struck the Vrancea region in Romania on August 11, 2026, at a depth of 140 kilometers. This is one of the strongest quakes recorded in the area in recent months. The earthquake occurred at 20:21:16 local time, with its epicenter located near Buzău. Prior to this event, smaller tremors were also detected in the region earlier that day. The INFP classified this earthquake as medium, and it is the most significant seismic activity in Vrancea since February 2026.
