Curtea UE: Regimul autocratic al lui Putin nu este suficient pentru a îngheța activele companiilor legate de Rusia

The Court of Justice of the EU ruled that the autocratic nature of Putin's regime is not enough to freeze assets of companies indirectly linked to Russia. National authorities must provide solid evidence of control over the company. This decision sets limits on how asset freezes can be applied to entities not directly targeted by EU sanctions. The ruling was based on the case of Inter Rao Lietuva, a Lithuanian electricity company, which was included in a national asset freeze list despite not being directly sanctioned by the EU. The court emphasized that mere political conditions in Russia do not justify asset freezes without demonstrated control.
