Curtea de Apel București judecă marți contestația DIICOT la eliberarea lui Călin Georgescu

The Bucharest Court of Appeal will hear the DIICOT prosecutors' appeal regarding the release of Călin Georgescu under judicial control. He and businessman Ionel Rusen are under investigation for serious fraud and organized crime. The Tribunal rejected the preventive arrest request, imposing a 60-day judicial control instead. Supporters gathered outside the court, expressing their backing for Georgescu. Prosecutors allege both men attempted to evade prosecution, citing Georgescu's prior knowledge of the investigation. The case originated from a complaint by businessman Răzvan Leu, who claims to have lost €1.1 million due to a fraudulent scheme involving Georgescu.
