Curtea de Apel Bucureşti dezbate marți contestaţia procurorilor în dosarul de înşelăciune al lui Călin Georgescu / Acum e sub control judiciar

The Bucharest Court of Appeal is reviewing the DIICOT prosecutors' appeal against the release of Călin Georgescu, who was placed under judicial control after being accused of organized crime and fraud. Georgescu was initially detained for 24 hours but was released by a judge who rejected the request for preventive arrest. The case involves a complaint from businessman Răzvan Leu, who claims to have lost one million euros in a fraudulent scheme proposed by Georgescu. The scheme involved a supposed business deal requiring a six million euro credit, with a one million euro guarantee, part of which was allegedly intended to fund Georgescu's presidential campaign. After the loan failed to materialize, Leu sought the return of his guarantee, but did not receive it. Prosecutors have since placed a lien on Georgescu's villa to recover the losses.
