On August 26, 2026, the Romanian National Bank reported an increase in the euro and dollar exchange rates, while the Swiss franc decreased. The euro reached 5.2589 lei, up from 5.2534 lei the previous day. The dollar rose to 4.5077 lei, compared to 4.5014 lei. The Swiss franc fell to 5.6086 lei, down from 5.6099 lei. The British pound and Hungarian forint appreciated against the leu, with the pound at 6.1429 lei and the forint at 1.4592 lei.
