Cum vede un diplomat american criza de la București: „Credeți că era mai ușor în '90? Uitați-vă câte ați realizat într-o generație”

Daniel Fried, a prominent U.S. diplomat, emphasizes the importance of strengthening the Romania-U.S. strategic partnership amid Romania's political crisis. He believes Romania will overcome its current challenges and remain a stronghold of freedom and security in Europe. Fried criticizes the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Romania, calling it a mistake, and stresses that the U.S. military presence should reflect the real threats posed by Russia. He encourages Romania to advocate for its defense needs, noting bipartisan support in the U.S. Congress for maintaining American troops in Europe. Fried also highlights a growing consensus among allies regarding the need to actively defend against Russian aggression.
