Uber plans to introduce autonomous vehicles in Europe, operating alongside human-driven cars rather than replacing them entirely. Marcin Moczyróg, Uber's General Manager for Central and Eastern Europe, emphasized a gradual implementation of this technology, allowing for a hybrid network of human drivers and autonomous vehicles. The partnership with Pony.ai aims to launch over 2,000 robotaxis across Europe, starting from Zagreb. Moczyróg highlighted the importance of human interaction in certain situations, which autonomous vehicles may struggle to replicate. He also noted that Central and Eastern Europe is becoming a hub for technological innovation, with several projects launched in the region.
