The Ministry of Economy plans to transform ROMARM into an integrated industrial holding, enhancing coordination among its subsidiaries. This proposal is part of a broader strategy aimed at reforming the defense industry, monitoring investments through the SAFE program, and promoting Romania's mineral resources and tourism. The restructuring aims to shift ROMARM from a commercial intermediary to a more cohesive industrial entity, organized into specialized clusters. A dual governance system is proposed to professionalize management and reduce political influence. Additionally, the SAFE program will ensure compliance with local production commitments in defense projects. The strategy also includes initiatives for mineral resource development and establishing a national tourism promotion organization.
