Robert Sighiartău, PNL's Secretary General, announced that the party will not join the government led by Luca Niculescu but may support it during the parliamentary vote of confidence. He emphasized the need for a government due to the current political deadlock affecting the economy. Sighiartău stated that discussions with Niculescu will occur after he presents his government program. Meanwhile, PSD leaders have given Sorin Grindeanu a mandate to negotiate with Niculescu, while USR remains cautious, awaiting the government program. Niculescu has invited all parties for discussions as he has 10 days to form his executive and present it to Parliament.
