Romania has intercepted four drones and is enhancing its air defense capabilities through the SAFE program. Minister Radu Miruță emphasized the importance of vigilance and the need for effective measures against drone threats. He noted that the military is actively working to destroy drones entering Romanian airspace and is implementing safety measures regarding drone debris on the coast. The country is acquiring modern ground-based systems to improve its defense against low-flying drones, ensuring better protection for both Romanian and NATO airspace. Miruță highlighted ongoing discussions with international partners to strengthen cooperation in air defense.
