The case regarding a ransomware attack on the Cugir City Hall's IT system has been closed by the Alba Tribunal. The attack, which affected the public transport department, was reported by the vice mayor. Despite the attack, the city managed to recover data with the help of an IT firm without paying the ransom. The investigation by DIICOT did not yield any leads on the attackers, leading to the case's closure. The city plans to enhance its cybersecurity measures to prevent future incidents.
