Cum rămân românii fără bani după un mesaj pe WhatsApp. Victimele ajung să facă și credite la indicațiile escrocilor - Economica.net

Romanians increasingly fall victim to complex WhatsApp frauds, where attackers build trust before stealing money. The National Cyber Security Directorate (DNSC) reported that WhatsApp account compromises were among the most common incidents in 2025. Attackers often pose as bank representatives, gaining victims' trust and convincing them to install remote access applications. This allows fraudsters to control devices and manipulate victims into withdrawing cash or taking loans, which are then funneled into cryptocurrency ATMs. The DNSC emphasizes the importance of not sharing verification codes and verifying requests through known contacts. Users are advised to enable two-step verification and report any compromised accounts.
