Young people leaving the special protection system can receive a monthly allowance if they are under 26 and prove they are studying or employed. This right is not limited to those currently exiting the system; previous leavers can also apply. For those still under protection, support can continue past 18 if they pursue education, up to 26 years old. In certain cases, at-risk youth may extend protection for up to two years. Before leaving the system for the allowance, individuals must be informed and advised by child protection authorities, as returning to the system is not an option afterward.
