Cum poate fi amânată demența cu până la 13 ani: trei factori de risc indentificați de cercetători
A new study suggests that avoiding smoking, diabetes, and hypertension in middle age could delay dementia onset by up to 13 years. Researchers from NYU Langone Health analyzed data from over 12,000 participants, finding that those without these risk factors had significantly lower dementia risk. The study highlighted disparities, noting that Black participants developed dementia earlier than white participants, and women generally lived longer without dementia than men. Experts recommend monitoring blood pressure and glucose levels from age 40, emphasizing that while risk can be reduced, it cannot be entirely eliminated.
