Cum ne dezvăluie ochii vârsta biologică reală a organismului

Researchers from Seoul National University have developed a method using retinal scans to estimate biological aging more accurately than previous models. This technique, known as the retinal age gap (RAG), analyzes a large database of eye images to assess age-related health variations influenced by genetics and lifestyle. The study involved over 29,000 retinal scans and demonstrated an average prediction error of 2.5 to 2.7 years for chronological age. Higher RAG values correlated with various health issues, indicating potential for identifying systemic health risks. Future research aims to validate RAG's effectiveness in tracking biological aging over time and its application in clinical settings.
