Cum încearcă Italia să oprească invazia crabului albastru cu ajutorul caracatițelor. Crustaceele provoacă pagube enorme pescarilor
Italy is combating the invasive blue crab by releasing octopuses into the Adriatic Sea, aiming to establish them as natural predators. The blue crab has caused significant damage to the fishing industry, estimated at 200 million euros. Researchers from the University of Bologna are behind the 'Octo-Blu' project, which involves breeding and releasing octopus juveniles to control the crab population. Despite challenges, including the octopuses' habitat preferences, the initiative hopes to create a local community of octopuses to help mitigate the crab invasion.
