Cum încearcă Guvernul să ridice nivelul apelor Dunării pentru centrala de la Cernavodă

The Romanian government has implemented a phased plan to raise the Danube's water level to ensure safe operation of the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant. This decision comes as the Danube is expected to experience further decreases in water flow starting September 10. The plan includes temporary modular interventions at the confluence of the Old Danube and the Canal linking the Danube to the Black Sea. If water levels drop below 1.58 meters, various measures will be activated, including positioning vessels to redirect water and constructing barriers. Funding for these actions will come from the Ministry of Environment's budget, while other costs will be covered by involved institutions. The shutdown of both reactors at Cernavodă has resulted in a significant loss of electricity supply in Romania.
