Cum funcționează Schengen în practică: Aproape 500 de persoane urmărite internațional, prinse în România într-o singură săptămână
In a week from August 7 to 13, Romanian police identified 490 individuals sought through the Schengen Information System. This system allows countries to share information about wanted persons, vehicles, and documents. During this period, a total of 631 individuals, 52 vehicles, and 107 documents were detected across Schengen states. Romanian authorities executed 19 European arrest warrants and found several individuals banned from entering Schengen. Additionally, 141 individuals wanted by Romania were identified abroad. As Romania prepares for full Schengen membership in 2025, the eDAC application will facilitate checks without traditional border controls.
