A bronze block recovered from a shipwreck in the Aegean Sea is one of the most remarkable archaeological finds. Discovered in 1901 near Antikythera, it was initially overlooked but later recognized as a sophisticated ancient mechanism. Dating back to 150-100 BC, it featured over 30 bronze gears that modeled celestial movements. Its complexity was revealed through modern analysis, leading to its recognition as the first mechanical computer. Despite debates on its accuracy, it reflects the advanced technological capabilities of ancient Greece. Today, it is housed in the National Archaeological Museum in Athens and continues to inspire educational projects worldwide.
