Two Moldovan men were arrested in Bucharest for defrauding a 75-year-old woman out of 50,000 lei by posing as police and bank officials. They convinced her to withdraw money from her bank account under false pretenses, claiming her accounts were compromised. After receiving the money, one suspect was caught while attempting to flee, and the other was found providing security for the operation. Both were detained for 24 hours and later arrested for fraud. The police urge the public to be cautious of similar scams and not to share personal financial information with unknown callers.
