In Vietnam, twelve men were arrested for stealing nearly 2,700 cats for meat trade. The group operated at night, targeting residential areas. Despite the legality of cat and dog meat consumption, sellers must have certificates for the animals' origin. This network had been previously targeted by police, who confiscated equipment and live cats. The stolen cats are sold to restaurants for about 2.4 euros per kilogram.
