Cum au ajuns escrocii să-i facă pe români să evite inclusiv apelurile reale de la bănci și Poliție

The rise in phishing attempts by over 90% in the past year has led many Romanians to distrust calls from banks and police. This skepticism is a response to previous scams that resulted in significant financial losses. Cybersecurity experts note that legitimate calls are often ignored due to heightened caution, which sometimes borders on paranoia. Scammers now not only aim to steal money but also personal data, posing as representatives from public institutions. Banks and utility companies report difficulties in reaching clients, as people are reluctant to share any information over the phone. It is emphasized that sensitive data should never be requested via phone calls, and over 58 million lei have been stolen from Romanian bank accounts this year alone.
