The ALISA project, showcased at InnoTrans 2026, proposes a new design for night trains featuring two-level carriages, private cabins, and family spaces. Coordinated by TRICON and the German Aerospace Center, the concept aims to enhance comfort while increasing transport capacity and operational efficiency. The train consists of three coupled two-level units, adaptable based on demand and season. Interior designs include various seating options, family compartments, and VIP areas, with the flexibility to transform spaces for day and night use. Attention to weight optimization ensures structural integrity without compromising functionality. Although not yet in production, the project highlights a resurgence of interest in night trains among European operators.
