Police and prosecutors are conducting 12 searches in Bucharest and several counties related to a group selling industrial equipment potentially for military use. The investigation targets violations of EU sanctions, focusing on a specific industrial machine valued at approximately 1.75 million euros. Authorities suspect attempts to transfer this equipment to a Belarusian entity under EU restrictions. The investigation reveals efforts to disguise the final beneficiary and circumvent export controls, continuing even after export permit requests were denied. Eight suspects are under criminal investigation and will be questioned by DIICOT.
