A 36-year-old woman from Cugir was deceived into transferring nearly 69,000 lei to fraudsters posing as BNR and police representatives using AI-generated documents. After realizing the scam, she reported it to the police, who managed to block the transfer and return her money. Authorities are still searching for the perpetrators and warn citizens about the risks of trusting documents that may be faked or created with AI.
