The skull, discovered in the 1960s, was initially thought to belong to a Neanderthal but was later dated to approximately 315,000 years ago. Researchers used advanced technology to create a detailed 3D model, combining various fossil data. The final images include both a minimalist anatomical representation and a realistic colored portrait, although some artistic license was taken in depicting features like skin color and hair. The study emphasizes that the digital models do not represent a specific individual but rather a plausible appearance of early humans in North Africa.
