Brifcor, a popular soft drink in communist Romania, evolved from orange concentrate to a mix of 14 plants, including dill. Initially made with Greek orange concentrate, production shifted in the 1980s due to external debt concerns. The drink was developed by a team led by chemist Ion Jurubiță, who replaced the concentrate with a plant-based alternative. Brifcor's color came from tomato vines, and it was a notable alternative to Western drinks like Fanta. After the revolution, it faded from the market but was relaunched in 2006 by Romaqua Group as Giusto Brifcor, though it struggled to regain its former popularity.
