Cum a ajuns Centrul de date de lângă Craiova, care a primit 18 milioane de euro nerambursabili de la stat, în pragul falimentului și anchetat pentru spălare de bani și delapidare
The data center near Craiova, inaugurated in 2022, is facing bankruptcy and is under investigation for money laundering and embezzlement. Cluster Power SRL, the company behind the project, received significant state funding, including a €18 million non-repayable grant. Investigators suspect that around 35 million lei from a state-guaranteed loan was funneled into personal accounts of the company's owner, Cosmin Georgescu. The project, initially celebrated for its potential to boost Romania's digital infrastructure, is now marred by financial troubles and legal issues, with multiple suppliers claiming unpaid debts. The company is attempting to avoid insolvency through a preventive concordat.
