Rodríguez warned that the economic impact of U.S. sanctions is expected to worsen in early 2026, particularly affecting Cuba's energy sector and leading to widespread power outages. He emphasized that the blockade harms the Cuban population directly, resulting in severe electricity shortages and food spoilage. The U.S. government views the Cuban regime as a national security threat, maintaining that sanctions are necessary for policy change.
