The Ministry of Finance has decided to maintain the reduced excise duty on diesel fuel due to current market conditions. This follows a previous reduction in August and September. Despite rising prices, the excise will remain at 2.1 lei per liter for two weeks, reflecting a 25% decrease from the standard rate. Experts indicate that prices may continue to rise, but further reductions in excise are not permitted under the current legal framework. As of September 15, diesel prices at various stations in the capital range from 10.46 to 10.72 lei per liter.
